Nexus Customers Climb Every Mountain

During the summer several Nexus customers have embarked upon some amazing activities to raise funds for charity. Nexus has been delighted to offer support to the following individuals that have demonstrated that ICT personnel have the stamina and tenacity to attack any kind of problem.
RGB Building Supplies - Three Peaks 24-hour Challenge
On 22nd June 2008, a team of six climbers, including personnel from RGB Building Supplies, made an attempt to scale the "Three Peaks" of Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon in less than 24 hours!
Despite a brave effort, the extreme weather conditions (winds exceeding 90mph) meant that the ascent of Scarfell Pike had to be abandoned. However, the team still raised a fantastic £2000 for the Rockwell Green Scout Group and Barnardos Children's Charity.
Exeter City Council - Everest Challenge 2008

Paul Evans, Head of IT at Exeter City Council, is part of a team planning an epic Everest trek, in aid of saving the last traditional Sherpa home and its associated community in the Everest region.
This is in the year that Sir Edmund Hilllary, the first to summit Everest (along with Sherpa Tezing), passed away, having dedicated much of his life to projects benefitting the Sherpa people and their tradition.
The team are currently gathering sponsorship to fund the project. A website has been set up and details of how to become a corporate sponsor or how to donate are available at http://www.everest08.co.uk/
